Just about everyone agrees that Bryce Young and CJ Stroud are not only the top two quarterback prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft, but the top two prospects, period.

Behind them are two other interesting QBs: Anthony Richardson from the University of Florida and Will Levis from the University of Kentucky.

The Indianapolis Colts, who hold the No. 4 pick, will almost certainly not be able to take Young or Stroud, and therefore they brought a number of front-office decision-makers and coaches to see Levis at a private workout.

Levis’ numbers aren’t nearly as impressive as those of Young and Stroud, as he threw for 2,406 yards and 19 touchdowns during the 2022 season.

Ball security seems to be a bit of a concern for him, as he had 10 interceptions last year and 13 in 2021.

But Levis, who is listed at 6-foot-3 and about 220 pounds, doesn’t have the size concerns that Young, who is 5-foot-10 and less than 200 pounds, is guilty of.

The Colts thought they had at least a temporary answer for their QB woes a year ago when they traded for veteran signal-caller Matt Ryan, who has been at the helm for the Atlanta Falcons since 2008 and led them to the Super Bowl in 2016.

But the 37-year-old showed his age, and he was eventually benched after the Colts gave up a 33-0 lead and lost to the Minnesota Vikings late in the season in favor of Nick Foles.

Several years after the unexpected retirement of Andrew Luck, Indianapolis has been learning how hard it is to find a true franchise QB.
