The Kansas City Chiefs will find themselves in a familiar situation in the 2023 NFL Draft, as they have the last pick in the first round.
Due to their continued success, the Chiefs have picked 20th or later in each of the last five drafts.
They drafted Patrick Mahomes with the 10th overall pick in 2017, which has turned out quite well for them.
Their scout team has selected a few gems in the past several seasons, finding Creed Humphrey, Willie Gay Jr, L’Jarius Sneed, and George Karlaftis III in the last three drafts.
With their 2023 draft position in mind, the Chiefs have scheduled a visit with top prospect Deslin Alexander, per insider Ryan Fowler.

Alexandre was a top defensive lineman for Pitt and could be a great addition to the Chiefs’ roster.
This news comes on the heels of a report that the Chiefs are likely to cut Frank Clark due to contract disputes.
Clark was a massive contributor to the Chiefs in 2023, and his presence will be truly missed.
However, Alexandre put together quite the final season at Pitt, racking up 29 total tackles and 5.5 tackles.
While Clark will be difficult to replace, with a bit of training and NFL experience, Alexandre could be impactful early on.
Ultimately, the Chiefs will need to be impressed during this interview to consider drafting Alexandre.
With a great draft track record, the Chiefs have a knack for developing young talent, regardless of their draft capital.
