The Los Angeles Chargers haven’t had the type of headline-making offseason they had last year.

In 2022, they brought in pass rusher Khalil Mack, Pro Bowl cornerback JC Jackson, and some help at defensive tackle in order to shore up what had been a poor defense, but this offseason, their biggest signing has been linebacker Eric Kendricks, who made one Pro Bowl, in 2019.

But the Chargers have done well in one area — they have been nominated for two Webby awards thanks to their success on the Internet.

There was lots of hope for LA when last season started, as some had them pegged as the favorite to win the AFC West and a Super Bowl contender.

But injuries cost a number of key players on both sides of the football lots of games, and the team limped to a 10-7 finish, which was enough to get the conference’s top Wild Card seed.

However, in typical Chargers fashion, they gave up a 27-0 lead against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the playoffs and lost in the final seconds on a field goal.

Simply getting and staying healthy would help the team’s chances of doing better in 2023.

However, it could use a speed threat at wide receiver to complement Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, as well as some depth at running back behind Austin Ekeler.

Ekeler has requested to be traded after not coming to terms with management on a contract extension, but the modest running back market could ultimately help him stay in LA for at least a little longer.

There is plenty of drama, but for now, fans can enjoy some fun aspects of the team thanks to their success on social media.
