The Celtics would offer a super contract to Jaylen Brown

The Boston Celtics intend to keep one of their star players, Jaylen Brown. According to the journalist boston globeAdam Himmelsbach, the organization is not open to transfer him and everything indicates that they would offer him a maximum super contract.

Since the start of the previous season, the forward’s future was filled with speculation because he was ineligible for a maximum extension. However, and as explained by the reporter of CBSSan Quinn, after Brown was awarded as a member of the All-NBA second team in 2022-2023, automatically became eligible for a supermax contractwhich would consist of five years and 295 million dollars.

In this way, in Boston they would maintain the duo made up of Brown and Jayson Tatum, regardless of the elimination in the Conference Finals against the Miami Heat, eighth and last seed in the East.

The resounding exit from the playoffs, however, has had the Massachusetts board exploring the transfer market and it is hoped that they may end up negotiating for Grant Williams, who will be a restricted free agent and to whom they will extend the qualifying offer. Dallas Mavericks is one of those interested in the forward.

The 26-year-old Brown reached all-time highs last season with 26.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists. His field goal percentage was 49 percent, the highest in his seven starts.
