The Toronto Blue Jays are a top-tier team in the American League.
Despite being eliminated at home in the first round of the playoffs last year, they remain a highly competitive squad with a terrific combination of pitching and offense.
They have both present and future, and are one of the most exciting teams to follow in baseball this year.
The foundation of their success is a talented top of the rotation and an explosive lineup.
In fact, you could say that the Blue Jays will be competing for the unofficial award of “best lineup in baseball.”

There are some competitors, of course.
The Houston Astros are stacked on offense, and so are the Philadelphia Phillies and the San Diego Padres with the additions of Trea Turner and Xander Bogaerts (and the return of Fernando Tatis Jr.), respectively.
But the Blue Jays do have a really solid case for the deepest lineup.
They only have two potential liabilities: Whit Merrifield and Kevin Kiermaier, and they both have the potential for at least average offensive performance.
Other than those two, there are mostly stars: George Springer, Bo Bichette, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Alejandro Kirk are almost as good as the Padres’ top foursome of Tatis, Bogaerts, Juan Soto and Manny Machado.
Daulton Varsho broke out last season with the Arizona Diamondbacks, and Matt Chapman has multiple 30-homer seasons.
The addition of Brandon Belt provides some left-handed punch, too.
This unit has contact, on-base ability, and a lot of power.
The Blue Jays could be in for a very productive season.
