The Houston Astros just won the 2022 MLB World Series in six games.

Everything is happiness in Houston, as Dusty Baker won his first Fall Classic and the team is adding a second trophy to their cabinet.

However, most of the baseball world has already moved on to 2023, including the Astros.

Roster decisions, rumours, and the hot stove have all started, and fans love it.

It’s also time to see how teams are currently ranked with the 2023 campaign in mind.

Yes, it’s never too early for a good ol’ power ranking.

And guess who is on top?

The Astros, of course.

Not only did the Astros just win the World Series, but they also don’t have too many major free agents leaving besides Justin Verlander, Yuli Gurriel, Michael Brantley, and Rafael Montero.

The Dodgers Are A Close Second, And Several Contenders Are Right Behind

The Los Angeles Dodgers should be considered a close second, as they have shown time and time again that they are a premier organization.

But they were knocked out in the Division Series, and are losing many quality players like Trea Turner, Justin Turner, Clayton Kershaw, Tyler Anderson, Andrew Heaney, David Price, and others.

The 2021 MLB champions, the Atlanta Braves, are third.

They have one of the best young cores in the league, and they should remain highly competitive for years to come.

The San Diego Padres are fourth, and the New York Mets are fifth even though they have half of their rotation leaving via free agency (including Jacob deGrom).

The New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies are tied for sixth, and the St. Louis Cardinals, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners complete the top ten.
