Late on Monday, Team USA matched up with Team Canada in their third game of the World Baseball Classic.
And right from the get-go, Team USA was firing on all cylinders.
After Chicago White Sox starter Lance Lynn enjoyed a perfect first, Team USA busted out for nine runs in the bottom half of the inning, capped off by Mike Trout’s three-run homer.
Team USA ultimately ended up winning by virtue of the WBC mercy rule.
The game ended in the top of the seventh, with Team USA preserving a 12-1 win.
On Twitter, MLB posted a few pictures from last night’s blowout win for Team USA, with a caption that read, “America’s team.”

Everything was working perfectly for Team USA on Monday.
The offense was on point and Lynn had a solid outing on the mound before giving way to St. Louis Cardinals ace Miles Mikolas, who pitched the final two innings.
Lynn allowed just one run on two hits, one of which was a home run hit by Chicago Cubs prospect Jared Young.
The veteran right-hander was done after five innings of one-run ball.
Tim Anderson enjoyed a solid night at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a triple, a walk, an RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base.
Trea Turner also hit a solo home run in the bottom of the second.
Team USA had a picture-perfect night on Monday against Canada and will head into their matchup with Colombia on Wednesday with some much-needed momentum after their 11-5 loss to Team Mexico on Sunday
