The Kansas City Chiefs were the NFL’s highest-scoring offense this season, averaging 29.2 points per game.
While Travis Kelce was the team’s leading receiver in terms of receptions, there was a shocking leader in the building, contributing in his own right.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling has led the entire league in yards per reception since 2018.
MVS, as he is better known, was on the Green Bay Packers from 2018-2021 before being signed by the Chiefs in the 2022 offseason.
Although MVS isn’t necessarily the Chiefs’ leading target-getter, his impact is certainly felt on this team.
MVS is a deep threat, which was something the Chiefs were lacking once Tyreek Hill left the team.
By having a player like him, Patrick Mahomes can stretch the field.
Now that he is known by other teams as a reliable deep threat, opposing teams simply cannot leave MVS open, which opens up the field for both Kelce and JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Smith-Schuster was another offseason addition for the Chiefs, and he has proven to be an excellent piece for this team.
Both MVS and Smith-Schuster are dealing with injury concerns, which is troubling heading into the Super Bowl.
With this injury in mind, will Valdes-Scantling still be able to take the top off of the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense, providing Mahomes with a deep-threat safety blanket?
The Chiefs were the NFL’s best offense this year for a reason.
Mahomes was able to find success this season with multiple receivers, a big positive for the team when considering that they lost Hill in the offseason.
