For the last few years, the Dallas Cowboys have had one of the NFL’s more talented teams across the board, yet they have ended each season in disappointment.
They have lost early in the playoffs in each of the last two seasons to the San Francisco 49ers, and for a franchise that has five Super Bowl championships, that is simply unacceptable.
On Tuesday, Dallas made a significant move by trading a fifth-round draft pick to the Indianapolis Colts for cornerback Stephon Gilmore in order to shore up its secondary.
Skip Bayless, a noted die-hard Cowboys fan, is thrilled with the move.
FORKS! FORKS! FORKS! FORKS! FORKS! … FINALLY THE DALLAS COWBOYS DO SOMETHING, FILLING A DANGEROUS HOLE AT CORNERBACK WITH A GREAT PLAYER, STEPHON GILMORE, WHO STILL HAS PLENTY LEFT AT 32. GOT HIM FOR ONLY A 5TH! NOW THIS DEFENSE RIVALS 49ERS’ AS THE NFL’S BEST. HAPPY DAYS, HERE AGAIN!

Gilmore, an 11-year veteran, started his career with the Buffalo Bills, where he spent the first five seasons and reached the Pro Bowl in 2016.
He moved on to the New England Patriots for the 2017 season, and it was there that he really started to blossom.
He made his first of four straight Pro Bowls in 2018, and he also earned a Super Bowl ring that year when New England defeated the Los Angeles Rams for their sixth world championship.
This past season, Gilmore had 11 passes defended and two interceptions while playing in and starting all but one game for the Colts.
He will team with Pro Bowl corner Trevon Diggs to help the Cowboys lock down receivers on both sides of the field.
Combined with All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons and star defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, the Cowboys should give their fans lots of reasons for excitement next season.
