Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani truly is a gift for baseball fans.
Not only is he an accomplished star both in Japan and in the United States, but everything he does and gets, he does it with a smile on his face.
English might not be his native language, but he is truly baseball’s global star and ambassador at the moment.
He is the personification of why we play and love baseball.
He is currently playing the World Baseball Classic (WBC) with Japan, and he is thriving.
Timely hits with men on base, scoreless innings, strikeouts…he is doing it all in games.
He is also doing everything he can to entertain the crowd before games even start.
As you know, watching Ohtani take batting practice is a show in its own right.
He will hit the ball to places it has never been before, and the WBC is no exception.

That ball was absolutely obliterated.
The crowd couldn’t believe it and watched Ohtani’s newest exhibition of raw power in his home land.
Of course, the smile and the celebration after nearly hitting the ball out of Tokyo Dome were everything.
Not only is he great at what he does, but he loves it.
He absolutely loves it, and since he does, everyone else gets caught up in the enthusiasm of his act.
Japan is already 2-0 in the WBC, in large part thanks to Ohtani’s stellar two-way performance.
If they win, Ohtani would probably have a strong case for MVP honors.
