On Saturday, Shohei Ohtani had a night to remember for the Los Angeles Angels.

The two-way phenom got the start for the Halos in the second game of their three-game set against the Miami Marlins and pitched six innings, allowing just two runs, only one of which was earned.

In the process, Ohtani struck out 10 Marlins hitters.

In doing so, the Angels ace accomplished an impressive feat, recording his 14th start with 10 or more strikeouts dating back to last season.

On Twitter, Bally Sports West reporter Erica Weston provided the news of Ohtani’s impressive milestone after his dominant start against the Marlins.

Ohtani also only allowed six hits and walked only three batters.

With his dominant start, he lowered his ERA to 2.91 on the season.

But a run like this is certainly unprecedented.

Ohtani has proven to be a strikeout machine when on the mound, and he went straight to work for the Halos on Saturday night.

Unfortunately, the Angels couldn’t pull off a victory for their ace, but Ohtani definitely had a night to remember.

In 11 starts this season, Ohtani is 5-1 and has pitched a total of 65 innings while striking out 90 batters and posted a WHIP of 0.95.

For his career, the 28-year-old has a 2.95 ERA over 414.2 innings of work.

The two-way superstar is soon to be a free agent and will likely be set up for a record contract once the 2023 season comes to an end.

But for now, he is continuing to strike out hitters and achieve important milestones.
