The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have found their replacement for quarterback Tom Brady.

Many thought they would give the starting job to Kyle Trask, but Tampa Bay decided to bring in competition.

The Bucs have signed former number-one overall pick Baker Mayfield to a one-year deal.

He will seemingly compete with Trask in training camp to see who wins the starting job.

But it is safe to assume that Mayfield will be the early favourite.

This was a move that not many people saw coming, especially because the Bucs showed so much love for Trask this offseason.

Fox Sports analyst Shannon Sharpe thinks this is a terrible signing by the Buccaneers.

Sharpe does not seem to understand how the Bucs can go from Brady to Mayfield.

He thinks Bucs players like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin should request a trade instead of playing with Mayfield.

We have seen Mayfield be a part of many different teams as he has never lived up to the hype of a first-overall pick.

But from the Bucs’ viewpoint, they see the NFC South is up for grabs this year.

Maybe they think Mayfield will give them more consistent play than Trask.

You can expect Tampa Bay to have a good defense again next year, but the quarterback will most likely be what holds them back.

More than likely this will be the last chance Mayfield gets to prove he is an NFL starter.
