Shannon Sharpe Has A Strong Belief About Lamar Jackson’s Next Contract

The NFL quarterback market seems somewhat broken right now.

With all due respect, it’s hard to fathom the fact that Daniel Jones will make $40 million per season, and Lamar Jackson cannot get a deal.

Jackson is one of the best players in the league, a former MVP at just 25 years old, and a guy who could single-handedly turn an offense around.

Lamar wants to get paid as much as Deshaun Watson — which he should.

Nonetheless, it seems like owners thought that Watson’s deal was a bad one in the first place, which is why they could try and use him as a scapegoat to turn the market down a notch.

At least, that’s what Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe seems to think.

Watson signed a five-year, fully-guaranteed $230 million contract with the Cleveland Browns as soon as he was traded by the Houston Texans, despite being away from the league for more than a year.

Jackson has failed to finish the past two seasons, which is why the Ravens seem wary about giving him more guaranteed money in his new contract.

He’s proven to be an elite quarterback when healthy, and it’s a shame to see that the league may be colluding to make him the fall guy just because another team overpaid for a player.

The NFL is perhaps the most ruthless business in the sports industry, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise at this point.
