The Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson are still in a standoff about a potential deal.
Jackson has been a major part of his contract talks this offseason.
That could be one of the reasons why a deal is not done yet.
Jackson does not have an agent, as he and his mother are the ones negotiating this monster deal.
Shannon Sharpe believes that is a massive mistake by Jackson.
We just saw Jalen Hurts get a huge contract, and he had an agent work that deal out for him.
For some reason, Jackson feels like that would not be his best option.
Sharpe said, “Lamar has himself to blame for this. A lot of this could’ve been resolved if he had representation.”

Another reason why having an agent is good is that they can handle all the tough conversations with the team.
Players do not want to hear why their team is uninterested in paying them a certain amount.
Also, that could lead to an uncomfortable relationship moving forward.
It will be interesting to see how the rest of the negotiations play out for Jackson.
He is saving himself money by not having to pay an agent, but will it be worth it in the long run?
Jackson deserves to be paid like one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL.
He is 26 years old and a former MVP, his whole prime is still ahead of him.
But, maybe he should not be the one negotiating what could be one of the largest deals in NFL history.
