One problem the NFL has had in recent years is the number of bad games on Thursday nights.

More often than not, the Thursday Night games are the worst ones played each week.

Not only are the matchups bad, but the quality of play is worse due to the short week.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says there might be a plan to make the games more intriguing for fans.

That is to be able to flex Thursday Night games in the future.

Meaning the NFL will have the ability to put one of the best matchups of the week on Thursday.

Even though that would not solve the short-week issues that many players have.

At least the games would be more competitive.

Thursday Night Football has become a large part of the league.

They even sold the rights to those games to Amazon Prime.

One thing the NFL knows is that fans will always watch their games.

No matter how bad a matchup might be, most diehard fans will watch the game anyway.

But, if they can create more competitive matchups on Thursday night, that might bring more viewers to Amazon.

The better the games, the more likely fans are to buy Amazon Prime and help one of the NFL’s partners.

At the end of the day, the NFL needs to do something about Thursday games.

Ideally, they get rid of them in general for the betterment of the players.

But since that is unlikely, the least they could do is play games between playoff-caliber teams.
