The quarterback landscape in the NFL could change drastically in the coming weeks if recent reporting is any indication.
Aaron Rodgers is slated to be on the move from the Green Bay Packers, a deal that hasn’t yet come to fruition.
Ian Rapoport has recently indicated that teams across the league have contacted the San Francisco 49ers, looking into the availability of Trey Lance.
While this report could have merit, Rich Eisen has recently commented on the situation, saying: “Can’t imagine the 49ers trade Lance right now.”

Lance was the third overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
After sitting behind Jimmy Garoppolo during his rookie campaign, Lance had an opportunity to start in 2022.
However, just a few games into the season, Lance injured his ankle, causing him to miss the rest of the year.
The 49ers found success with seventh-round rookie Brock Purdy, but he is working through injury issues of his own.
To Eisen, it doesn’t make sense for the 49ers to deal Lance, considering the small sample size of NFL games that he has played.
After dealing Garoppolo, the 49ers find themselves with a limited depth chart at quarterback, as Lance and Purdy are their two best options.
However, the team has recently signed Sam Darnold, who is now on his third NFL roster.
Whether these calls have amounted to anything remains to be seen.
The 49ers advanced to the NFC Championship last year with Purdy at the helm.
Whoever their starting quarterback is in 2023 will have high expectations moving forward.
