Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider was out to lunch with his wife when he noticed a woman choking.
Fortunately, Schneider was well versed in the Heimlich maneuver, which is commonly used to help choking victims move a piece of food from blocking their airways.
And so, the Jays manager took action into his own hands and performed the maneuver, effectively saving the woman’s life.
Schneider was lauded for his heroic actions, which even impressed the owner of the restaurant.
On Twitter, Blue Jays insider Kaitlyn McGrath posted a remark from the restaurant’s owner, who praised the team’s manager for stepping in and saving a life.

Judging by the description of the events, it would seem that Schneider was able to keep his cool and remain confident as he performed this heroic act.
Sadly, moments like these are sometimes overlooked in life, but that doesn’t diminish the impact they have on people and society.
Fortunately, Schneider was able to spot the woman choking and ultimately stepped in to help when she needed it.
As a result, the woman’s life was saved and Schneider was praised for his heroism.
What is important to remember in this situation is that athletes and coaches are human beings and care about those around them.
Schneider’s good nature was on full display yesterday as he helped dislodge the piece of food that was blocking the woman’s airway.
Ultimately, this is bigger than baseball and sports.
This was a potential life or death situation, and the Blue Jays manager acted swiftly to save the woman’s life.
