The 2023 MLB season is almost upon us.

2022 was certainly a treat, but there is more excitement in store for us in 2023.

The Cincinnati Reds are a team that is still rebuilding and may need a little time to build their next contending ballclub.

But that hasn’t taken away from their excitement to start the 2023 season.

If there’s any silver lining, it’s that several young stars within the system are almost ready.

Two of them made their MLB debuts last season, those being Hunter Greene and Nick Lodolo.

On Twitter, the Reds posted a photo of Greene celebrating a strikeout and expressed their excitement for Opening Day.

Whether a team is in contention or in the middle of a rebuild, Opening Day always brings excitement.

Cincinnati is no different and certainly is a good baseball city, despite the recent struggles of the Reds.

Having Greene and Lodolo on the mound for the first two games of the season is an exciting way to kick things off, whether the Reds contend or not.

Either way, baseball is back.

It was a long winter, and even though it was full of drama and excitement in free agency, nothing compares to the actual season taking place right before us.

The Reds will open things up at home on Thursday against the Pittsburgh Pirates, who finished tied in last place with in 2022.

After Tuesday, there will be no scheduled games on Wednesday.

But things will get going again on Thursday, and the Reds are certainly excited to kick off another year.
