With the World Baseball Classic now over and Japan having been crowned the champions, it’s time to shift our focus back to Opening Day, which is just a week away.

Spring training is in its final days and teams have some decisions to make before they finalize their Opening Day rosters.

At Boston Red Sox camp, a certain star is returning in style.

Masataka Yoshida, who had a big WBC performance and helped guide Japan to a title, has returned to Red Sox camp in Fort Myers, Florida.

On Twitter, the Red Sox posted a video of Yoshida returning to camp in style.

Yoshida helped spark a major comeback for Japan on Monday night.

The team trailed Mexico by the score of 3-0 in the bottom of the seventh inning of their semifinal game.

However, Yoshida helped pick Japan up off the mat, as he tied the game up with a three-run home run.

Japan fell behind again late, but rallied for three unanswered runs to advance to the final.

Now, Yoshida returns to Red Sox camp as a WBC champion.

On Tuesday, Japan finished off Team USA with a 3-2 win and earned the WBC title.

The Red Sox can only hope that the WBC trophy isn’t the last one that Yoshida wins in 2023.

The Japanese slugger was their biggest offensive addition during the offseason after they lost Xander Bogaerts and JD Martinez.

The Red Sox will hope that his WBC performance is an indication of what he could do at the Major League level.
