The Tampa Bay Rays have been nothing short of impressive to start the 2023 season.
After being walked off by the Cleveland Guardians to end the American League Wild Card Series, as well as their season, the Rays have come back with a vengeance.
They have started off the season with a 10-0 record, which is their best start in franchise history.
And so, with their hot start comes a pleasant surprise at the top of this week’s power rankings.
On Monday, MLB tweeted their list of the top-10 teams after the first full week of the season, which shows the Rays on top.

The Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, and San Diego Padres round out the top five, respectively.
In the bottom half of the top 10 in order are the Houston Astros, Toronto Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers, New York Mets, and Minnesota Twins.
Tampa Bay has been largely bolstered by their starting rotation.
Despite being without Tyler Glasnow, the remaining four starters have proven to be quite effective.
Shane McClanahan, Zach Eflin, Jeffrey Springs, and Drew Rasmussen have all pitched admirably to start the 2023 season.
Their offense also consists of stars such as Randy Arozarena, Yandy Diaz, Isaac Paredes, Brandon Lowe, and Wander Franco.
The Rays have been firing on all cylinders and are looking like a true postseason contender as the season unfolds.
