The Portland Trail Blazers continue to accelerate their negotiations before the 2023 Draft and, according to sources from journalist Evan Massey, they would have recently held talks with the Washington Wizards around the figure of Kristaps Porzingis.
The Latvian is on the starting ramp with his two teammates Bradley Beal and Kyle Kuzma before the imminent reconstruction that is coming up in the capital franchise. For this reason they will try to obtain the maximum possible benefit for their players.
Regarding the Latvian center, to his credit he has a player option valued at 36 million that he aims to reject. However, if the Blazers and Wizards want to complete the deal, they would either have to agree to it to balance salaries, or sign a sign and trade to ensure Porzingis’ sporting future and convince him to play alongside Damian Lillard.
The Blazers would have focused their negotiations by offering guard Anfernee Simons along with their number 3 pick in the 2023 Draft, and other pieces yet to be confirmed.
