Portland and New Orleans begin to fit the pieces of a great transfer

That’s how it is. The NBA market is heating up – the great example is the transfer of Bradley Beal to Phoenix – and New Orleans and Portland are not far behind; so much so that at this point in the film they could be shaping what would be a great move in the hours leading up to the draft (June 22).

As reported by Bill Simmons of The Ringer, the Louisiana organization seems increasingly convinced to move Zion Williamson. A few days ago we pointed out that it was a possibility and now, two days before the draft, it seems that they will at least talk with other teams (Blazers and Hornets) to reach a position that allows them to get Scoot Henderson, their main objective at the moment.

While the agreement with those from North Carolina seems more complicated, since they do not have the urgent need to win now, with those from Oregon it aims to be much more feasible. The Blazers, with the threat of Damian Lillard’s possible goodbye, understand that it is the summer of going all out to get a competitive team, and of course, with that goal it is likely that they will move their pick 3.

Kevin O’Connor, also from The Ringer. According to his sources, Portland would welcome the arrival of Zion Williamson, whom they would see as a great weapon both in the pick and roll Like the handoffs alongside Damian Lillard and Shaedon Sharpe. In short: they understand that it is a piece that could give them a great boost in the 2023-24 campaign.

At this point, and without knowing if New Orleans will finally do without the number 1 draft pick in 2019, the big question for everyone is Zion’s physical condition. In his career he has spent a blank campaign and in two others he has not reached 30 games; I mean, it’s hard for him to believe that he would suddenly take such a leap in terms of being able to stay healthy.

Charlotte’s Choice

Perhaps because of those doubts that Williamson arouses, since The Ringer They stress that the Hornets would rather receive Brandon Ingram than the power forward. Those from North Carolina would thus form a talented duo with the All-Star forward and LaMelo Ball, who has a whole summer ahead of him to get stronger and avoid a plague of injuries like the one he suffered last year.

At this point, the Hornets should decide whether they prefer a built player like Ingram or go for a raw diamond like Brandon Miller. With their number 2 they could also get Scoot Henderson, but having LaMelo as a base it seems difficult for them to take this path. It is time to wait for events.
