PJ Washington rejected a renewal offer of 50 million

The plague of injuries that has affected the Charlotte Hornets at the start of the season has served to make some of the players on the squad stand out above their usual production. One of them is being PJ Washington, who also has a juicy prize on the horizon: his contract extension.

The interior has another year left on his contract subject to a qualified offer worth 7.9 million dollars from which he will be disassociated with total security. In fact, the franchise has already transferred a proposal to the player that he rejected. According to the journalist hoopshypeMichael Scotto, the Hornets put on the table a four-year extension and a total amount that oscillates around 50 or 52 million.

However, Washington would be asking for an annual salary close to 20 million, around six or seven million more per season than what was offered by the Charlotte management. The one from Louisville is enjoying a career top of 31.1 minutes per game, taking advantage of the absence of Miles Bridges. In 14 games, all of them as a starter, he registers numbers of 14.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocks.
