The Philadelphia Phillies are finally starting to turn their season around.

It took longer than they would have liked to get over .500 for the season but they are finally there.

After their most recent road trip, it appears the Phillies are starting to play winning baseball.

The Phillies took on the Arizona Diamondbacks for four games and the Oakland Athletics for three.

They went 6-1 in that stretch and now have a season record of 38-34.

Taking three of four from the Diamondbacks is no small task.

They have the second-best record in the National League and have been on fire this year.

As for beating the A’s, that is a series the Phillies needed to sweep.

Oakland is on pace to be one of the worst teams in the modern era.

Despite their recent hot streak the Phillies still sit eight games behind the Atlanta Braves in the NL East.

They are even three games behind the Miami Marlins for second place in the division.

But there is still plenty of time for the Phillies to make up the ground necessary.

The Phillies head back home for a massive homestand.

Starting on Tuesday they take on the Braves for three games and New York Mets for three.

Welcoming in two division rivals is a chance for the Phillies to make a statement.

This is a homestand where the Phillies must walk away with a winning record.
