Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes sure knows a lot about baseball.
He has said in interviews that training in pitching and playing basketball helped him develop and hone his quarterback skills throughout the years.
He grew up around MLB and the game of baseball, as his father Pat pitched in the big leagues from 1992 to 2003 with six different organizations.
He is currently focusing on the Super Bowl, a game that his Chiefs will play this weekend against the Philadelphia Eagles.
He, however, took some time to talk about baseball and MLB, specifically MLB The Show.
He was thrilled by the video game’s latest decision to include the Negro Leagues in the gameplay features.

Pat, his father, is Black, and Patrick is of mixed race.
He knows how important it is for the Black community to see, get to know, and play with some of the biggest stars of the first half of the 20th century.
Some of the best players in the history of the game played in the Negro Leagues at some point.
That’s why Mahomes, who is looking for his second Super Bowl win, values the fact that young kids all around the world will now be able to experience the Negro Leagues and play with Jackie Robinson, Josh Gibson, Roy Campanella, John Donaldson, Hank Aaron , Larry Doby, Monte Irvin, and others.
Including them in the 2023 edition of MLB The Show was a clear win by the video game, the league, and the Negro Leagues Museum.
