Patrick Kane is a New York Ranger

After a week of speculation, Showtime is headed to Broadway! Patrick Kane is a New York Ranger! That seems crazy to say after the Rangers acquired Vladimir Tarasenko two weeks ago. Thanks to Patrick Kane using his no-trade clause like an NBA player and pushing for a trade to the New York Rangers only. Chris Drury performed salary cap gymnastics in order to get him in. To help understand all the salary cap maneuvers and impact Kane’s contract will have on the Rangers I sat down with PuckPedia founder Hart Levine.

Hart has been great with updating Rangers fans on his Twitter account @puckpedia with salary cap scenarios and helping answer fans questions. In our interview, he also talks about the issues that the New York Rangers will have as the season progresses due to the limited cap space from the Patrick Kane trade. They can only call up a player on an emergency basis making under $850K if there is an injury, after playing short a man for a game. They will most likely play shorthanded the rest of this week with Ryan Lindgren out injured. Listen to the full interview to hear all the scenarios laid out.

Stanley Cup or Bust

This is it! It is now Stanley Cup or bust for the New York Rangers this season. The re-build is over. They have one of the most talented top 6’s in the NHL and the most talent on a Rangers team since 2014-15 team. Now the challenge is on Head Coach Gerard Gallant. How does he fit all of these pieces together. Who plays with Zibanejad? Who plays with Panarin? What will the first power play look like? Chris Drury has assembled a monster, now Turk has to win with it.
