Once upon a time, the only way to see players of Manny Machado, Xander Bogaerts, Fernando Tatis Jr. and Juan Soto’s caliber on the same team was in an All-Star Game.

The San Diego Padres are giving fans the chance to enjoy all four in the same uniform in 2023.

Soto and Tatis in particular should make for an explosive duo on the field.

It looks like they are getting along just fine off of it too.

Both are young, fun-loving players who hail from the same country.

They have things in common, and the most evident one is that they are extremely talented baseball players.

Soto is still 24 and has a career .950 OPS with 125 home runs and one of the best plate disciplines in the league.

Tatis, on the other hand, is one of a handful of players capable of finishing a season with at least 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases.

Their talents are complementary: they are both stars, but with different qualities.

And that’s great for the Padres, a team that managed to make it all the way to the National League Championship Series without Tatis last season.

Soto and Machado will have Tatis back this year after April 20, and Bogaerts from the start of the year.

They will also have solid contributors like Ha-Seong Kim, Jake Cronenworth, Nelson Cruz, Trent Grisham, and a really talented pitching staff.

They are well-positioned to make another run at the World Series.

All of them are eager to lift their first Fall Classic trophy in franchise history.
