Lamar Jackson has been one of the most discussed players during the 2023 NFL offseason.

The Baltimore Ravens decided to place the non-exclusive franchise tag on him, causing a frenzy across the league.

While many teams were reportedly interested in him, ultimately, no team has pursued Jackson.

Recently, Carolina Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer commented on the team’s future at the quarterback position.

On Jackson, he said that he is a “great option, but a really expensive option.”

It appears that the Panthers are not interested in Jackson, and all but confirms that they will be selecting a quarterback in the draft.

The Panthers recently traded away several assets to the Chicago Bears, which resulted in their acquisition of this pick.

With a move like this, the Panthers likely had a player in mind, considering the amount of capital that was given up.

Three quarterbacks are said to headline this year’s class: CJ Stroud, Anthony Richardson, and Bryce Young.

Each of these quarterbacks had impressive collegiate careers, and they all impressed at the combine.

The Panthers are likely convinced that one of these three rookies possesses the necessary tools to lead their organization for the foreseeable future.

Coming off a 7-10 season, the Panthers are looking to grow their organization, competing for the NFC South title.

They have already added Miles Sanders, Adam Thielen, and Hayden Hurst, and have continued to search for more offensive weapons.

If the Panthers do move forward with a rookie quarterback, they have surrounded him with veteran talent who are hungry to establish a fresh start.
