This morning, the San Diego Padres made a key move, adding another veteran bat to their mix.
San Diego signed veteran slugger and second baseman Rougned Odor to a contract.
The terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.
Odor spent the 2022 season with the Baltimore Orioles after spending the 2021 season with the New York Yankees.
The 29-year-old hit just .207, but still managed to hit 13 home runs and drive in 53 runs.
He also had an on-Base percentage of .275 and a slugging percentage of .357.
On Twitter, Jon Heyman of the New York Post announced the news of San Diego’s recent signing.

Odor has spent most of his career with the Texas Rangers.
The veteran second baseman came up in 2014 and helped guide the Rangers to back-to-back AL West titles in 2015 and 2016.
His best season to date came in 2016, when he hit for a .271 average and hit a total of 33 homers, both of which were career highs.
However, he is best known for an incident that took place that year with the Toronto Blue Jays on May 15.
After Jose Bautista slid hard into second base in anger due to being hit by a pitch, Odor didn’t let it slide and immediately got into it with the Blue Jays slugger.
After a shove, Odor reared back and delivered a punch directly to Bautista’s face.
If there’s one thing the Padres are getting, it’s somebody that isn’t afraid to stand up for himself or his team in extreme situations such as the one in 2016.
