Orioles Make Big Announcement For Their Home Opener

The Baltimore Orioles were set to begin their slate of home games on Thursday with their opener against the New York Yankees.

However, those plans appear to have been foiled as of now.

Rain is in the forecast for Baltimore on Thursday, and the team was forced to make an announcement that will leave fans disappointed.

The team’s home opener against the Yankees has been postponed and will be made up on Friday.

The game will start at 3:05 pm Eastern Time.

On Twitter, the Orioles announced the news of Thursday’s postponement and their plans to get things going again on Friday.

This is certainly disappointing news for Orioles fans who purchased tickets for the home opener.

Fortunately, the game will be made up on Friday.

Baltimore won 83 games last season and finished just three games back from the Tampa Bay Rays for the final Wild Card spot in the American League.

With stars such as Adley Rutschman, Gunnar Henderson, Cedric Mullins, Grayson Rodriguez, and Anthony Santander, the Orioles are prepared to make more noise in 2023 and possibly reach the postseason for the first time since 2016.

Accomplishing that will be no easy task of course, as they’ll have to deal with the Yankees, Rays, and Toronto Blue Jays in the AL East.

The Boston Red Sox also can’t be counted out.

But fans who were looking forward to seeing their team in action on Thursday will have to wait just one more day before things get going again and the Opening Day festivities kick off.
