The Baltimore Ravens went to great lengths to land Odell Beckham Jr.

He was by far the best free agent at his position, but no other team was willing to spend as much as they did on him.

OBJ was reportedly quite close to joining the New York Jets, so the Ravens had to one-up their bid and made him a deal that has raised plenty of controversy among NFL fans and pundits.

So, it became evident that they were determined to land a clear No. 1 option for the passing game, meaning they do intend to have Lamar Jackson play for them for at least the 2023 season.

However, as appealing as the prospect of having him on the field could be for any quarterback, Beckham is aware of the fact that his presence doesn’t guarantee that Jackson will stay with the team any further.

According to Jamison Hensley, OBJ hopes they can team up in Baltimore, but he knows that’s only a possibility.

From a business stand-point, signing with the Ravens was a no-brainer for OBJ.

He would have the chance to prove that he’s healthy and still impactful on a one-year deal, all while making at least $15 million.

So, playing with Jackson was a plus for him, but he was going to get paid regardless.

Now, Jackson needs to continue weighing in all his options, as the season is closing in and it doesn’t seem like any other team is willing to meet his demands, so he might not have a choice outside of going back to Baltimore next season. .
