The latest news of the Oakland Athletics and their plan to build a stadium in Las Vegas all but confirms that the team’s days in Oakland are numbered.

After the 2021 season, the A’s had a fire sale and traded away stars such as Matt Olson, Matt Chapman, and Chris Bassitt.

As a result, the team finished with the worst record in all of baseball at 60-102.

But rumors have circulated for the past several years that the team may be on the move soon.

Now, that seems all but inevitable.

On Twitter, Oakland news anchor Casey Pratt expressed sadness over the fact that the A’s may be out of Oakland soon.

Pratt explained that he grew up attending A’s games as a kid and that his two children have experienced that as well.

He concluded his statement by expressing sadness that other fans won’t be able to carry on their family traditions of going to A’s games if the team moves away.

The A’s are widely considered to be a small-market team with limited resources.

This ultimately does not bode well for fans who have wanted to see the team remain in Oakland.

A move to Las Vegas seems all but inevitable and it appears that the A’s have shifted their focus to the future and the chance to play somewhere new.

And fans in Oakland are understandably going to be sad about the situation and the fact that certain traditions will ultimately cease.

The A’s are off to a 3-16 start in 2023.
