New Jersey native and reality television star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi from Jersey Shore has been a household name since 2009.
The 33-year-old married mother of three has spoken in recent years about her perceptions of fame.
It is not surprising since she has gotten older and is settled into family life that she likes the fame part of show business a bit less.
Appearing on Paris Hilton’s “This Is Paris” podcast recently, Polizzi said:
“Now that I’ve seen the fame and all of it I would love to be just like a silent — like a silent business operator that makes millions of dollars, instead of the fame.”

Given the choice, most would probably agree with Polizzi.
She went on to talk about what her life is like when she leaves the friendly confines of New Jersey.
Polizzi said:
“I really want to go to the beach and do all these things with my kids but it’s like really hard because you know, people see us and they feel like they’re best friends with us because they watch the show so much. And you know, anywhere I go it’s just a spectacle. I’m taking pictures. I’m doing all of that. I love my fans, don’t get me wrong. But if I had the choice to make the money and be famous or not famous, I would say not famous.”
Polizzi Shared Similar Thoughts In 2018
When speaking with Larry King a few years ago, she talked about taking her young children out in public.
She said:
“You know, going to the mall, or just going to a restaurant and it’s like an appearance and you have to like say hi to everyone and take pictures… Don’t get me wrong I’m totally blessed for the fans and that recognition but sometimes when you are with your family you just want to be with your family.”
Conclusion
If we have learned anything in recent years, it is that fame comes at a cost.
Athletes, actors, social media influencers, and reality television personalities have been more open about the price of fame.
Polizzi’s net worth is estimated to be $5 million.
When Jersey Shore began, she earned $5,000 per episode; However, as the show increased in popularity she made as much as $150,000 per episode.
It is a tough balancing act between fame and privacy especially for a reality star who people feel as though they know because she appears as herself on TV.
