Baker Mayfield’s tenure with the Cleveland Browns ended abruptly.
Mayfield had some ups and downs, but he did lead the team to the playoffs despite multiple changes in the coaching staff.
Still, it became evident that he was holding them down, so they didn’t hesitate to part ways with him to make room for Deshaun Watson.
Notably, Mayfield’s revenge tour wasn’t exactly successful, either.
His days with the Carolina Panthers will go down in infamy, and he didn’t even finish the season there.
He later landed with the Los Angeles Rams to replace the injured Matthew Stafford, willing his team to win and proving that he could still play in his league, and now he’s a free agent again.
That’s why Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic believes people should keep an eye on the Baltimore Ravens as a potential landing spot for the former first-overall pick.

Per Zrebiec, the Ravens’ front office has always been fond of Mayfield, and his close relationship with fellow Sooner Mark Andrews would also be a factor to consider.
The Ravens feature a run-heavy offense he could benefit from, and he already knows the AFC North division very well.
Of course, this would mean the Ravens had already parted ways with Lamar Jackson, who’s expected to be franchise-tagged if both parties are unable to reach an agreement on a contract extension.
Some speculate Jackson could threaten to hold out, or the Ravens could receive a Godfather-like offer for his services.
While that’s a lot of hypotheticals, it’s still a possibility.
