NFL Insider Says 1 QB Prospect Is Believed To Be Panthers’ Favorite

The Carolina Panthers nabbed the top pick in this year’s NFL Draft after sending four other picks and wide receiver DJ Moore to the Chicago Bears, and the question is which quarterback they will use it on.

Will it be Bryce Young, the undersized yet adept passer and signal-caller from the University of Alabama?

Or will they take CJ Stroud from the Ohio State University?

Could Carolina possibly take someone else, such as the University of Florida’s Anthony Richardson, whose stock started to rise during the NFL Combine?

ESPN NFL analyst Adam Schefter says that Young is the favorite to become a Panther via their No. 1 pick.

Young had 3,328 passing yards and 32 passing touchdowns this past season for the Crimson Tide, a year after posting 4,872 yards and 47 touchdowns.

However, plenty of observers are concerned about the fact that he is less than six-feet tall and 200 pounds.

Stroud has put up similar stats for the Buckeyes, yet he stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 215 pounds.

Schefter also said that Young is to the Panthers what Mac Jones was to the San Francisco 49ers when they traded up and received the third overall pick in the 2021 draft.

Of course, the 49ers ended up taking Trey Lance instead, allowing Jones to fall to the 15th pick where he was selected by the New England Patriots.

The Panthers have just added a big weapon in running back Miles Sanders, who was signed after he helped lead the Philadelphia Eagles to Super Bowl LVII.

Sanders will help take some pressure off the rookie QB that will be under center for them next season.
