The Denver Broncos may have been the most disappointing team in the NFL this past season.
Heading into the year, many people thought they could compete in the AFC.
Instead, they were one of the worst teams in the NFL.
Look no further than the play of quarterback Russell Wilson for their struggles.
Wilson had the worst season of his career, as Denver had the worst offense in the NFL.
Changes needed to be made this offseason to try and fix their offense.
That is why the Broncos fired Nathaniel Hackett and hired offensive guru Sean Payton.
The former Super Bowl-winning head coach is expected to get the best out of his offense this year.
Also, he is expected to help Wilson get back to his Pro-Bowl level of play.
One reason for optimism for Wilson is that he was playing injured last year.
According to Ian Rapoport, Wilson had arthroscopic knee surgery this offseason to fix a nagging issue he had been dealing with.

The idea that Wilson will be returning to full health should excite Broncos fans.
You could even say that it is now or never for the Broncos quarterback.
He will need to play well this season or he might lose the confidence of the fans in Denver.
Plenty of pressure will be on Payton and his coaching staff.
Competing in the AFC West will not be easy, but they are expected to be a playoff team.
The Broncos will be one of the top teams to watch in the NFL this season.
