NFL Insider Has A Message For New Potential Commanders Owners

The Washington Commanders organization has gone through a trying time over the past several seasons.

They have changed their name twice in the last five years, and are now likely to go through a selling process, due to the Dan Snyder situation.

Ahead of a potential new owner, NFL insider Josina Anderson had a few tidbits of information for them.

“The goal is the Super Bowl every year, not to waste time,” Anderson said.

The NFL is an ever-evolving league.

When looking at the pace of play, and the stylistic changes that have occurred over the past several seasons, particularly at the quarterback position, the NFL is vastly different in 2023 than in 2003.

As Anderson indicates, having an elite quarterback is paramount.

The Kansas City Chiefs have found sustained success over the past five seasons, which has directly correlated with the rise of Patrick Mahomes.

Conversely, the New York Jets have the longest active playoff drought in the NFL, largely due to their quarterback woes.

For the Commanders, finding a new, elite quarterback should be at the top of their to-do list, at least in Anderson’s eyes.

The Commanders have recently lost both Carson Wentz and Taylor Heinicke, leaving Sam Howell and Jacoby Brissett atop their depth chart.

However, Anderson believes that neither of these players will be a true difference-maker, and the team needs to invest in someone else for the position.

If the Commanders do look elsewhere, which quarterback makes the most sense to join their roster?

With young, talented pass-catchers, it appears that the Commanders will need to do something.
