After collapsing and almost dying on the field during a game last season, Damar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills appeared to have played his last snap in the NFL.
That may not be the case, with Hamlin seemingly intent on getting back to where he left off, as he recently told President Biden that he believes he’ll be able to play again.
However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter let it be known on Friday that Hamlin still hasn’t been cleared to play, and that’s not all that surprising considering what we all saw happen on the gridiron last year.
To be clear, Damar Hamlin is still going through testing and still has not been cleared to play. https://t.co/g6scSXJ19U

A desire to continue his playing career after going through such a dramatic ordeal and a life-threatening experience is admirable, to say the least.
No one doubts Hamlin’s courage, as he’s become an advocate for player safety in the NFL and will likely continue to be one even if his playing days aren’t over.
The real question moving forward is whether the Bills or any other NFL franchise will be willing to take the risk of having Hamlin on the field for their football team.
Hamlin turned 25 this earlier month and, by all accounts, has a lot of football left in him, with the will to keep playing, which could be argued would be the most challenging part for the safety at this point.
It will come down to the league’s decision and an NFL team’s willingness to take on the risk of having him on the field after such an injury scare that shook the league and professional sports to the core.
