NFL Insider Gives Injury Update On Packers WR

The Green Bay Packers had a lackluster 2022 season that saw them miss the playoffs, and they’re greatly in need of some offensive oomph.

They finished 11th in passing touchdowns and 17th in passing yards, but those numbers are misleading, as they failed to reach the 20-point mark six times in their first 11 games.

Veteran wide receiver Randall Cobb missed four games this season with an ankle injury, and according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, he underwent a procedure that should allow him to play without pain in 2023.

However, Rapoport says Cobb is unsure about his future.

After trading away star wideout Davante Adams last offseason, Green Bay had a glaring lack of production at that position in 2022, which led to a 4-8 start.

Only one of their receivers, Allen Lazard, managed to collect more than 700 yards, and he was their only receiver who averaged over 50 yards a game.

The Packers have two productive running backs in Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon, and when they leaned on them more often, they looked more competitive later in the season when they went on a four-game winning streak and got close to a playoff spot.

But they need some type of significant upgrade at wide receiver.

If Aaron Rodgers will remain at quarterback for the team, which is a big if, his large contract will make it difficult for the Packers to land any real upgrades.

Everyone is awaiting whether Rodgers will stay in Green Bay, get traded to another team, or simply decide to retire.
