Just when it seemed like the New York Jets and Odell Beckham Jr. had an agreement, the Baltimore Ravens came out of the left field with an offer he couldn’t turn down.
They offered him a one-year deal that could be worth up to $18 million, which is way more than most teams were willing to offer him.
Ironically, the Ravens have been going through a bit of a stand-off with QB Lamar Jackson, who wants more guaranteed money in his new contract.
Jackson let it be known that he wants to be traded away from the team.
However, NFL insider Ian Rapoport said on the Pat McAfee Show that this signing makes us all think that Jackson will be back as their quarterback next season.
“There’s no deal for Lamar Jackson that’s close but this is a pretty good indication that he’s going to be their QB this season..
The Ravens are still trying to work on a deal and hopefully there’s a solution”@RapSheet #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/CK0Ar985R2

Otherwise, why would they sign OBJ to such a massive contract, especially coming off a major knee injury?
For years, fans have complained about the Ravens failing to surround Jackson with the kind of talent he needs to dominate.
Jackson hasn’t gauged as much league-wide interest as most of us thought he would, so he might be stuck in Baltimore for at least another season.
So, this is clearly a gesture of good faith by an organization that has gone to great lengths to humiliate him throughout the whole offseason.
Then again, there’s still a chance that OBJ is no longer the superstar wideout he used to be back in his prime, so this could be just too little and too late to try and make things work.
