The prevailing wisdom regarding the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft seems to be that the first few players chosen will be quarterbacks.
Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, Anthony Richardson, and Will Levis headline a crop of signal-callers that seems to have tremendous potential.
However, there are those who think that one of the teams with one of the first few picks may elect to choose a player that plays a different position.
In fact, NFL insider Adam Schefter made a bet on the air with Dan Orlovsky that a quarterback will not be selected with either the No. 2 or No. 3 pick.
.@AdamSchefter just bet @danorlovsky7 that two QBs won’t be selected before the Colts at No. 4 overall 😳 🤝

The Houston Texans hold the second pick in the draft, and one would have to surmise that they would want to take a quarterback with that pick, as their current options at that position — Davis Mills, Case Keenum, and EJ Perry — aren’t exactly impressive.
The third pick is held by the Arizona Cardinals, who have a stud at QB1 in Kyler Murray, and there have been rumors that a team such as the Indianapolis Colts, who have the No. 4 pick, may want to trade up with them.
However, nothing has happened, and perhaps it is because the Colts feel confident they could take a QB such as Richardson at No. 4.
Schefter seems to even believe that the Colts will be able to take Stroud, who threw for 3,688 yards and 41 touchdowns last season at Ohio State.
