The 2023 NFL Draft is less than a month away, with teams around the league preparing their draft board for April 27.

As usual, all the draft discussions at the moment are about the quarterback position and the talented young players in the mix to be selected on draft day.

Although the conversation is usually about Bryce Young, Anthony Richardson, CJ Stroud or Will Levis, another quarterback might be making some noise in the final stretches leading up to the draft.

Brian Baldinger of NFL Network believes that University of Tennessee product Hendon Hooker is a solid quarterback prospect that improved every year he was in college.

The four quarterbacks previously mentioned are expected to be taken early in the first round of the draft, with all of them potentially off the board in the top 10.

Hooker, however, is likely to be taken in the second round of the draft, but as always, there’s no telling how things will unfold on draft day, nor whether things change drastically from now until April 27.

It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that Hooker rises up the quarterback rankings among NFL teams or in mock drafts in the coming weeks.

As of right now, he’ll be the fifth quarterback off the board at the highest, but that can easily change with a prospect falling or Hooker rising or both scenarios.

In 11 games played for Tennessee last season, Hooker threw for 3,135 yards, 27 touchdowns and two interceptions to go along with 435 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns.
