The Pittsburgh Steelers have brought in some help at wide receiver by reportedly trading for veteran Allen Robinson II, who spent last season with the Los Angeles Rams.
Pittsburgh has a young quarterback in Kenny Pickett, who was a rookie last season and posted 2,404 passing yards, seven passing touchdowns, and nine interceptions.
He needs support around him, especially at wideout, if he will achieve the full potential some saw in him when he was the No. 20 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
NFL analyst Warren Sharp pointed out that while the Steelers have gotten Pickett a little bit of help, he feels they do not have the right offensive coordinator, as he said Matt Canada will “muck it all up.”
since drafting Kenny Pickett the Steelers have tried to add help:
drafted WR George Pickens (Rd 2)
drafted WR Calvin Austin (Rd 4)
traded for WR Allen Robinsonto go with WR Diontae Johnson (Rd 3) & RB Najee Harris (Rd 1)
yet they still have Matt Canada as OC to muck it all up

Canada has been the Steelers’ offensive coordinator for two seasons now, and prior to coming to the team as their quarterbacks coach in 2020, he spent over 20 years in multiple capacities on the coaching staffs of multiple college teams.
Pittsburgh has Diontae Johnson, a wide receiver who has four years of experience, who made the Pro Bowl in 2021 and had 882 yards last season, plus George Pickens, who had a solid rookie year with 801 yards in 2022.
In addition, Najee Harris, who posted 1,034 yards and 10 total touchdowns in 2022, is a young running back who has plenty of potential.
But the reality is that the Steelers are early in their rebuilding process, and there is a real possibility that Pickett won’t be the franchise signal-caller they need to return to their glory days.
He had 42 touchdown passes in his final season at the University of Pittsburgh, and the Steelers are hoping he will rediscover some of that magic moving forward.
