NFL Analyst Believes That Titans Will Make A Change At 1 Key Position

The Tennessee Titans are in a bit of a tough spot right now.

They’re not good enough to be a Super Bowl contender, yet not bad enough to get a top-five pick in the NFL Draft.

Also, even though the Jacksonville Jaguars are up and coming, the AFC South division is pretty much up for grabs, all things considered.

But the Titans also need to cut expenses, and they’ve already made several salary-dumping moves that might make it tough for them to compete at the highest level.

That’s why former NFL player-turned-analyst Michael Robinson believes that new GM Ran Carthon is ready to make a major overhaul inside the organization.

That means parting ways with their quarterback, who can opt out of his contract right now and become a free agent:

“They gotta get more for the quarterback position, and then you look at the AFC South, and it’s just there for the taking,” Robinson said. “Ran Carthon, he’s going to clear everything, he’s going to press reset, and it’s going to start with a new quarterback.”

Tannehill is far from a top-tier quarterback — and he’ll never be — but he helped the team take a major leap forward from Marcus Mariota.

Of course, it’s not that the bar was high anyway, but Tannehill did just about enough to be granted another opportunity somewhere else, especially with so many quarterback-needy teams out there.

Malik Willis was one of the most promising QB prospects in his class, but he was nothing short of a disaster in limited action last season.

He’s got the physical traits to be an elite dual-threat gunslinger, but it’s evident that he’s still a ways away from being able to contribute consistently.

So, will the Titans make a move in the Draft? Or will they pursue a veteran? We’ll have to wait and see.
