The Boston Red Sox may be at the bottom of the American League East, but they have kicked it into gear as of late, winning seven of their last 10 games and cruising to a series win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday.
The Sox rolled to a 12-5 win and knocked the Brewers out of first place in the NL Central.
Leading the way was Masataka Yoshida, who was signed to a five-year deal over the winter.
Boston entered the eighth inning trailing by a run, but tied the game on Justin Turner’s solo shot before taking the lead on a homer by Yoshida.
But Yoshida wasn’t done there.
Boston extended their lead to 8-4 before their new slugger connected for a grand slam, his second home run of the inning.
On Twitter, the Red Sox posted a video of Yoshida’s grand slam to celebrate his unique accomplishment.

The last player to hit two home runs in an inning was Fernando Tatis back in 1999.
The then-St. Louis Cardinals slugger hit two grand slams off of Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Chan Ho Park.
Sunday marked the 24-year anniversary of Tatis’ accomplishment.
And in an interesting twist of fate, Yoshida made some history of his own on the anniversary of Tatis’ big game.
Only one of Yoshida’s home runs was a grand slam, but it was still impressive nonetheless.
The new Red Sox slugger drove in six runs and help lead them to a crucial series win against Milwaukee, who started off the season hot, but are now trailing the young, upstart Pittsburgh Pirates in the NL Central.
