New Jets WR Has A Message For Fans

The New York Jets’ offense is going to look significantly different in 2023 than it did last season.

They signed wide receiver Allen Lazard, formerly of the Green Bay Packers, and they traded wideout Elijah Moore and a third-round draft pick to the Cleveland Browns for a second-round draft pick.

That trade gives them some more draft compensation that could help them complete a trade for Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who has said he wants to play for the Jets.

To replace Moore, New York signed wideout Mecole Hardman, who spent the last four years with the Kansas City Chiefs, on Wednesday.

When NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted that he has joined the team in order to “run jet sweeps,” Hardman responded that he has more than that in his arsenal.

Hardman has reportedly joined the Jets on a one-year contract, and he will presumably be a slot receiver, which was Moore’s role with them in his two seasons there.

Hardman, 25, had 297 yards and four touchdowns last season, although an abdominal injury cost him nine regular season games, as well as Super Bowl LVII.

An added bonus for the Jets is the fact that Hardman has won two Vince Lombardi Trophies with the Chiefs, which means he can impart some invaluable experience to their relatively young team.

In his four pro seasons, he has accumulated 151 catches for 2,088 receiving yards and 16 receiving touchdowns, plus two more rushing touchdowns.

The race for the AFC title is getting a lot more interesting with teams such as the Jets and Miami Dolphins loading up.
