NASCAR Power Rankings: Pre-Nashville – USA Informing

It is time for a new broadcast team, and what better track than one in the heart of NASCAR Country? However, before we race in Nashville it’s time for a new NASCAR Power Rankings. How do you think your driver faired after Sonoma?

NASCAR Power Rankings: 15th to 11th

Bubba didn’t have a bad weekend, at Sonoma especially for not being a good road racer. he finished 17th and made the most out of his car. Which is what he needs to do, Toyota’s have been fast all weekend at Nashville could we see Bubba win?

The Daytona 500 winner, had a rough stretch after that win to open the season. However, in the last nine races, he’s finished outside the top fifteen only eleven and that was due to being in the wrong place at the right time. Let’s see what the “underdog” team can do in Nashville.

Another so-so day for the number six team. This isn’t a bad thing it actually shows this team is building towards something I feel like at least. With a veteran like Brad, being a little lower in the NASCAR Power Rankings is okay if you’re consistently being quietly competitive.

Another top five for Chris, I think if they can grab a win before the playoffs start they could definitely make a deeper run than some even considered this team made before the season. Chris qualified twelfth today for tomorrow’s race. Let’s see how he fairs during the race.

SONOMA, CALIFORNIA – JUNE 11: Joey Logano, driver of the #22 Ford, drives during the NASCAR Cup Series Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway on June 11, 2023. (Photo by Sean Gardner/Getty Images)

During practice, I was listening to Dale Jr. talk about the reigning champion yesterday. When he says something along the lines that Joey gets the most he can out of the car he is given. Well, he’s doing something or his team from him is one because he grabbed another top-three finish last weekend. Could this team be getting it together at the right time?

10th-6th: Ton of Competitors

Denny won the first stage at Sonoma and had overall a decent day until a late spin ended his day. Denny is what he is, he’s a good veteran driver but even the best of us makes mistakes sometimes. Fully expect to see Denny rebound just fine.

The watermelon man himself kind of fell off the radar during the early part of the season. A solid top ten after a string of poor finishes could be what gets this team back near the top of these NASCAR Power Rankings. Pretty good starting spot for tomorrow too, if you ask me.

AVONDALE, ARIZONA – MARCH 12: Kevin Harvick, driver of the #4 Hunt Brothers Pizza Ford, drives during the NASCAR Cup Series United Rentals Work United 500 at Phoenix Raceway on March 12, 2023 in Avondale, Arizona. (Photo by Meg Oliphant/Getty Images)

Some solid pit calls, and an even better veteran driver behind the seat will grab you another top-fifteen finish even if you don’t have the best car. People better watch out for this team if they ever can get some more speed in these cars.

A very surprising result for this team. He started second at Sonoma and had the speed but came home outside the top thirty. Tyler is a good road racer, so I was shocked but he’s shown his car has speed this weekend at Nashville so we will see what happens I guess.

Much like Reddick he had a bad finish at Sonoma. Let’s be honest though, Ryan isn’t exactly known for his road racing skills but it was a pit penalty that doomed him. I think Ryan is on the cusp of the top five drivers right now. So his presence of him in the top five of these NASCAR Power Rankings, very soon.

The Top Five

Another top ten finish, nothing surprising about that in my opinion. Early on in the season, this was the best Toyota on the track. Some, conversations with a teammate and this team could easily be in contention for wins again.

He either finishes in the top five or ten. Or we see this team finish outside the top thirty. We don’t see this team with those “consistent” finishes a lot but he’s still arguably one of the best drivers in the series because both driver and crew chief know how to work on a racecar.

This man dropped earlier in these NASCAR Power Rankings. I am not surprised though to see Kyle Busch figuring out how to win again after a letdown final year with Joe Gibbs Racing. With a second place at Sonoma, and a third win the week before this team is riding a hot streak right now.

An uncharacteristically average day for this team, and driver at Sonoma. Starts fifth later on this evening, and I fully expect them to be around contending for the win at the end of the race.

Martin outclassed the field at Sonoma. Starting within striking distance to the lead could be dangerous especially if the Toyota’s keep up with the speed they showed early on in the race weekend. However, Truex has been building towards a dominant win like that for a while. I think he could be easily battling for the lead week in and week out much like William but something is clicking right now for this team.

NASCAR Power Rankings Wrap-Up

Well, that’s it, it finally happen. A new driver combo is at the top of the list. Martin Truex is trending right now, and I’m kind of scared because when this man is on, he’s the best at what he does. After watching the Xfinity race yesterday, I’m worried running well may not be good enough, you may need lady luck on your side as well. Either way, here are a few last-second picks if you need help.

Right now, with this next-gen car doing what it was intended to do by evening out the field I’m not sure any drivers are for sure locked to win. However, I think it’s obvious right now. MTJ is riding arguably the hottest streak right now, and Toyota is showing speed as a whole this weekend once again. However Trackhouse has shown speed as well, and you obviously can never count out Larson. An underdog pick right now to finish in the top five, Buescher and Wallace based on recent performances. Either way, this is going to be a good race, this track is slick. These drivers are going to have to wheel all race long.
