The Los Angeles Lakers have closed the transfer of Patrick Beverley to the Orlando Magic in exchange for Mo Bamba, according to the journalist from The Athletic, Shams Charania. The Los Angeles franchise also sends a second round draft pick to Orlando as compensation.
This move comes just hours after the Lakers themselves sent Thomas Bryant to Denver in exchange for Davion Reed and three second rounds of the draft. They had previously completed a three-way deal with the Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves that returned D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt.
Bamba has averaged 7.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per game this season with the Magic but lost the starting role he enjoyed last season. The interior signed a new two-year deal with Orlando over the summer, leaving him with one more season at $10.3 million.
