The NFL and the NBA usually get a lot of media attention and higher ratings numbers in comparison with other sports, including MLB.
The Super Bowl is, year after year, one of the most viewed sporting events in the United States, and the NBA Finals also draw a lot of attention.
When it comes to the All-Star Game, however, they can’t compete with MLB, or at least not recently.
According to Front Office Sports, 7.51 million viewers enjoyed the 2022 MLB All-Star Game in Los Angeles.
The Home Run Derby, the day before, also put a lot of people in front of their TVs.
The NFL Pro Bowl came the closest, with 6.28 million viewers.

The NFL and the NBA, and the nature of each game, results in higher odds of players getting injured or trying to protect their main investment, which is their body.
As a result, you can tell that players at the Pro Bowl and the NBA All-Star Game are being very cautious and are nowhere near max effort.
In the NBA All-Star Game, for example, little to no defense is the norm.
It’s too easy to score, and fans have grown a little tired of the act.
This problem is not as evident in MLB: there are lots of pitchers and each one gets one, maybe two frames.
Since batters hit all the time, they don’t actually change their routine too much.
MLB All-Star Games are much more competitive than their NBA and NFL equivalents.
People can tell the difference and it is reflected in ratings.
