It’s official: MLB training camps will open this week.
The vast majority of teams will host pitchers and catchers between Wednesday and Thursday, while position players will report next week.
Football is over, but don’t worry: baseball is back!
The league’s official Twitter account made sure to keep us all hyped up with its most recent video.
“The journey begins here. Baseball. Is. Back,” was the chosen message.
In the video, we can see some of the game’s brightest stars, from Shohei Ohtani to Mookie Betts, Aaron Judge, Mike Trout, Manny Machado, Jeremy Pena, Ronald Acuna Jr., and others.
The journey begins here.

All of them are shown in spring training gear, then in their MLB uniforms in the games that count.
But that’s not everything in the video.
It also showed people the simplicity of baseball and the joy that the little things related to the game can provide.
People watering the grass, preparing their bats, the sound of a fastball popping the catcher’s mitt, and so on.
Baseball, more than any other game, is one for the senses.
The beautiful sight of the diamond and the sun kissing the field, the smell of freshly cut grass, the sound of a bat hitting the ball, the taste of bubble gum, and the feel of the seams of the ball, among many other things.
We are just days from getting to enjoy all of those things, and we couldn’t be more excited about it.
The games will start on February 24, and the regular season will be on March 30.
Baseball is most definitely back.
